If it was constant it would be ok but it varies minutely all the time. Just
dragging a window from one monitor to the other does it. Any ideas ?

sounds like you have it set for thresholds in the bios..so it goes faster
depending on tempature
look in the bios settings for hardware monitoring

also when it varies like that it may be a little dusty and need a cleaning
