I'm looking for a cage that will allow sata drives to plug n play

maybe 4 bays

does anyone know if this exists?

the sata connectors look like theyd be great for plug n play if
someone would just design a female socket for them to plug into!

It exists. Since SATA is indeed suitable for direct hotplug,
there are even those that do not require a disk-carrier, but allow
direct hotplug of bare SATA drives.

thanks!

any brand names?

I cant find them on ebay or anywhere else that allow the bare drive to
be plugged in.

they all require some kind of cage, or adapter.

I want the bare sata drive to plug directly into female sata sockets.

one for data, one for power

similar to how a sata laptop connector is set up.
