Brad

I've never seen that error before.
I can only think of two causes.
1. (most likely) A duff bios chip.
2. A duff motherboard.

Is there some sort of progress indicator when the erasing is taking
place ?
If it has managed to erase some blocks, that would re-enforce the idea
that it's the chip.

I'd probably try and get a replacement chip, preferably with the
latest bios already in it.

Eric

Thanks for the quick reply. I had to go into my bios and turn off my
"write protect" in the advance section. After I did that, the upgrade
went ahead with no problem. Thanks again.
