Does Ghost or another program allow me to copy the files from my HD to
my USB drive and if needed boot from the usb drive?

Thanks,
Pete

Booting from the clone on a usb drive requires more than just a
copy of the original internal drive, and so the imager cant do it alone.

The system needs to be able to boot from the usb drive too, not all can.

Can you name one PC (make and model) that can boot from
a USB hard drive (as opposed to a USB floppy drive or a USB
flash drive)?

No difference between the two, other than the Int13 unit (00/80).
Windows cannot boot from USB though. Bart's PE has a USB hack.

Yes, but it also depends on what OS you want to boot.

Gost has not influence on whether your USB device will be bootable.
That depends on your BIOS.

Let us suppose Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Then you have a problem, and thats nothing to do with the PC, everything to do with what XP or
Vista can do easily, once you have a PC that can boot a USB with another OS like say PE on it.
