Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware (more info?)

I'm considering purchasing a new graphics card, the fan on my current one
went out, and I want to replace with a "silent" model. Due to space
constraints I am limited to a card of 15m thickness or less, including
heatsink. I believe both of the fans below qualify in that respect, but
would like your opinion as to which would be best:

ATI Radeon 9200 128MB Quiet Video Card

or

MSI FX5200 TD128 Quiet Video Card

I play some games (Comanche 4 for example), but primarily use the computer
for web and graphics work. Both the above fans can be found at
endpcnoise.com for $85-$90, is that a good price?

Comments, anyone?

The Radeon 9200 is better than the FX5200.

You should be able to find a better price for nearly if not exactly the
same thing, or more Radeon 9200 choices at newegg.com (search by KEYWORD
"9200"):

What's your current card? Does it still work, other than the fan?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Thanks for your response - yes, my current card works but the heatsink gets
*hot*. So I though I better replace it before it goes out at an inopportune
time. My current card is a NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro (64 MB video
RAM).<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
