I've used them without problems for years. They offer a three year
warranty. Seagate is offering five years. These are the only two brands
I ever consider.

I've had excellent results with the WDs. The last time I installed one,
I had to get a question answered by their tech support. I was extremely
impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of their org.

I installed a Seagate HD on a friend's system a couple of weeks back.
That was the 1st Seagate I'd used in a while and it worked (is working)
well.

IMHO, both are good hardware w/good warranties and support.

Regular retail WD drives now carry only 1 year warranty.
Oddly some OEM variants of same drives still have 3 year.

They're fine drives, as are Seagates... and since Seagate's
warranty is now 5 X as long it would tend to make WD a good
choice only in special circumstances, like a Raptor, or if
the cost difference was large.
