Hi,

My PC produces quite a lot of noise, especially if its CPU usage exceeds
(approx.) 20%. Thus the CPU's fan is causing most of the noise.
Can this be replaced by a less noisy fan or (better) something that doesn't
produce any noise at all.

Motherboard is a ASRock P4VT8, the processor is an Intel Pentium IV 3.4
Ghz.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

noisy fan - I have just upgraded my computer from a 800 MHz AMD Duron to a 2.0 GHz Intel based motherboard. The computer is very noisy where it has a sort of whine coming from the CPU fan. At least that is the only way I can quiet it is to stop the fan momentarily...

Noisy fan - The fan on my graphics card has become noisy. If the answer is to give it a drop of oil, I will need to remove the card to get at it. If I do that, will I have to reconfigure the settings?

Noisy case fan - I have quieted down my case fan by detaching it from it's screwed on position and hanging it using duck tape and long bag ties, from a short distance above. It now hangs a very short distance from the front of the case, very near it's original position....
