Turn your back for a few months and EVERY F'in thing changes!

New Abit M'board and Intel P4 CPU
Only ONE IDE slot, and my DDR memory doesn't have the same footprint.
So, what kind of memory mods do I need for this (not so) wonderful,
new board?

Can't even plug in all the fans in my case because the plugs from
my power supply are obviously outdated too!
(Anyone know of available adapters?)

This is exactly why I'm no longer a bench tech.
No standardization!

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Addendum to previous post to help identify
the mem mods I ALREADY have, that DON'T fit....
They are marked: PC2700U DDR 512MB (Samsung)

The new M'board is marked DIMM 1, DIMM 2, etc.

So, if I buy DIMMS, is that a guaranteed "fit" ?

Gets very frustrating when you have boxes of old,
outdated, SIMMS, SCSI controllers, cables, etc.
a small fortune in unusable hardware and software
so Bill Gates and friends can line their pockets.
I hope there's a special place in the lower regions for all of them!

Thanks for any hints/tips. -rj

for this very reason. We're a throw away society!)

You might need DDR2. What's the manual say?
