I got tired of cleaning the balls on my meece, so I got a Microsoft
Wireless IntelliMouse® Explorer 2.0.
Now the wheel needs to be cleaned. I can't find any screws so I'm
guessing it just pops apart. However, I want to make sure it was
intended to pop apart before I force it to do so.
The reason I feel the mouse finger wheel (or what ever it is called)
needs to be cleaned is because it is dragging. I tried Q-Tips and
ETOH but to no avail. Maybe next time I"ll put the ETOH on the Q-Tips
and see if that helps.
Seriously, if you have taken one apart or know anything about this
subject please respond.
Also, Has anyone tried those TEFLON feet that stick on the bottom of
you mouse - to make it more slideable? Does it work?
And an off topic message to you Web Designing Gods: Do you really
have to make verification on a site so difficult? I realize that you
don't want Bots to sign on, but if a bot is so smart you have to make
signing on so hard, you need to hire the thing.
If you want me to be able to type back what you show me,
how about not using 1's,L's,S's,5's,0's or 0's. Surely you can find a
better way to do this.
Maybe show an icon and ask what it is? Or what is this a picture of?
Or show a picture and ask: Animal, Vegetable, mineral.
There must be a better way.
And if you are still reading, how can I make my font bigger when I
type and New Usernet Message? I have a 25''LCD screen and I can
hardly see this type it is so small. The column this is in takes up
about 1/6 of my screen.
SO any useful information towards my questions would be appreciated.

In the past I've found the dishwasher handy for cleaning keyboards,
mice, and grubby motherboards. The secret is drying before use.

Those feet greatly reduce sliding friction, especially on hard plastic
or glass surfaces. >> Stay informed about: Need help cleaning my Mouse's Wheel |

Pull back the sticker, it should be obvious.

Pull whole thing apart and clean liberally.

Your mouse should have teflon feet, you need only buy more
teflon if the original feet came off and were lost.

How is it hard? Typically it's just a persistent username
and password.

I agree, on some initial singups the picture of the text
is crude, but how often is it important?

Any decent newsreader allows changing font size.
Even so, any particular LCD resolution will effect point
size for fonts, it's something that has to be considered
when buying a monitor. What newsreaders have you tried??
(try a different one,, or since you're using Forte, I know
it allows changing text size. >> Stay informed about: Need help cleaning my Mouse's Wheel |

I took apart my Logitech mouse, and one thing that impressed me, was the
number of small parts in there. The scroll wheel has tiny springs and
other little bits and pieces. So once you get there, you'll need to
take note of how it goes back together again.
There could be screws on the bottom of the mouse, and a sticker may cover
the screw head. My mouse has two screws, covered by stiokers. Years ago,
I've also had mice, where the screws are hidden under the rubber feet.
On those, you pry out the rubber, to gain access to the screw. So the
mouse makers can be tricky.
The challenge-response system on some websites uses "CAPTCHA", described here.

Check battery compartment for screws. If none it either pops open or
slides/pops open. No matter, you'll break it anyway. Get some super glue
first.
