It can be made to work, but you want the network connecting the two
routers to be on a different subnet from the network on the LAN side
of the DLink. The WAN side of the DLink and the LAN side of the
2Wire need to have compatible IP addresses and netmasks (perhaps
via DHCP). You may also need to decide who's responsible for login
protocols and defeat the login procedure on the one that isn't.
