did something real stupid I think.
I was adding round cables to my mobo,
After I finished I found laying under the vid card on the bottom of
the case a tiny round , loos like a capacitor, The size of a pencil
eraser.
marking are
22
16s
2p2
exact size of a pencil eraser.silver top is 1/2 silver and 1/2 black,
bottom is plastic with two conectors and no sighn of solder.
Everything works and benchmarks as it should. Did notice when I
powered down the machine the speakers farted. That has stopped, card
is running cool. I think it had to come from the vid card as all of
the other capacitors have the same exact collor markings. Should I buy
a new card or just use the thing and see what happens, Very difficult
if not impossible to tell where this thing was attached..
thanks in advance, call me what you will as I deserve it

Get a bright flash light, and look at every inch of all your circut
board hardware to see where it might have come off. Small ones are
not exactly easy to knock off unless theres constant force... for all
you know, you had a cable pulling on it, and when you pulled the cable
out - out came the capacitor.

Unless you have an exact card you can hardly say.
If it came out of your card might be from TV out circuits. Check if they
work too.
Just hope it was lieing there from an old card you removed Smile

I did the exact same thing when foolin around in my pc. Must a been one of
those extra parts computer, furiture, and brake pad manufactures include
with their kits (Ha!) I have an original GF3 64MB and what came off sounds
like what you described. I couldnt see where it came off either but the
part only matched what was on the video card. I have been using the card
this was w/o a hitch for about a month since then but I am getting a FX5900
when newegg gets em in.
