Need help installing Win2K on P5B-E

I'm looking for some kind souls to give me some hints on how to get
Windows 2000 installed on a P5B-E motherboard.

Setup :
Pentium Asus P5B-E
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (2,13/1066/2MB)
2*512 MB DDR2-RAM PC5400/DDR667
VGA Asus EN7600GT
A-open QF50D Miditower Blue 350W
Maxtor 200GB Diamondmax 10 S-ATA2 7200rpm 8MB

I'm trying to install Windows 2000 SP4 but after it is done I cannot
get the software and drivers to install properly from the support CD.
Whatever I try, windows won't startup anymore.
Usually it reports INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.

I partition the drive in 2 parts:

40GB for Windows and the rest free
I install Windows 2000, all goes OK.
When it is up and running I add the EnableBigLBA registry entry and
reboot. So far so good.
The trouble starts when I install the chipset updates.
I cannot see what it is complaining about since the system is so damn
fast

Any hints/suggestions/help are appreciated.
