Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware (more info?)

Hi all
Im hoping somone can help me with a recuring problem that im having,i trook
my machine back from where i brought it,i wanted a simple raid system,i got
them to install 2 maxtor 120 gb hard disk, and they used the asus motherboard
to
use the satar raid, well i picked up the machine,as soon as i got it home i
installed a few things, booted up and was imediately presented with the
message "incomplete raid set" well it kept happening so i took it back, the
guy said it was probably due to the motherboard a asus 7N8X deluxe, well he
managed to change the motherboard under garantee, and fitted the latest asus
motherboard, everything was fine,i got it home the message no longer
appeared, then i did a few installs and the same happened again "incomplete
raid set,i have to update it manualy, well ok im going to take it back but
its beginning to bug me,im not a computer expert, but i paid nearly 6oo swiss
franks for these guys to get it right,i did not realise that a raid system
was such a complex big deal! could it be something to do with the power
supply? not enough? anyone else experienced this, has anyone any idea what
could be wrong,i sure would be gratefull for any help that you might be able
to offer me.
thanks Keith
