You should start by reading the instructions that come with the card.
If you do, it tells you you must install the drivers in Windows BEFORE
installing the card. If you do it this way, you should be just fine.
If you're moving the OS disk from an onboard controller to the promise
one, you're probably going to have some nasty problems. Windows doesn't
like moving, so it takes a lot of jumping through hoops to get a move to
work properly. If you can, you're probably better off leaving the
Windows drive where it is, and just putting your other drives on the
promise controller...
