Post subject: i have the k7n2GM2-LSR - low CPU temp problem - diode under CPU on MOBO not read
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>msi-microstar (more info?)

and it is a refurb -

i find that most of the mobo utils from msi site dont work with this board ,
they want a server board.

i also smelled the funny phenolic stink the 1st day , but that may have been
the new power supply.

the main thing is invaled CPU temp.

the little thermal diode under the cpu that presses up into it when the chip
is seated reports a temp of like 55 or 60 deg F .. when room temp is about
70 .

so then the fan monitor doesnt spin it fast enough and the cpu sink gets
real hot because the board thinks its cooler than it is !
