Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>msi-microstar (more info?)

Hi - after 'upgrading' my processor (to Palomino Athlon 1800+) i wanted to
check temperatures. With old bios there was no Pc Health Status. I tried
3.60 (newest) and 3.50 bios versions of MSI k7t turbo 2 (6330v5)
motherboard - Pc health status present, but...
Cpu Temperature 0 Celsius and System Temp 0 Celsius too (fan speed correct)
Programs such as Motherboard Monitor, Speed Fan show strange things (zero or
144 Celsius Smile Pc Alert 3 shows nothing, PC Alert 4 and Fuzzy Logic show 78
Celsius (constant - no matter if cpu usage is low/very high), but I found
some posts - other people had the same problem (no temp in bios, 78 in
PcAlert - its probably a 'guess'). The mainboard was oem, new, sensors seem
ok, my heatsink is hot but I can touch it firmly for 10 seconds. Cooling
installation is ok (with thermal paste), system runs stable (WinXP)

Has this problem been solved? Is there a bios version that shows temperature
correctly?
Thank You for any suggestions. Jarek
