I know I am behind the times as far as motherboards and systems but I
just picked up a k7vta pro v1.0 and an athlon xp1600. I'm wondering if
I can use one of the new video cards that run at agp 8x or agp 4x. I'm
looking at the Radeon 9600SE 8x4x with 128Mb ddr....on sale at BestBuy
for $129.00. Will this card work in this motherboard...any
disadvantages...will it damage either the card or motherboard...Hoping
it will work at 4x and then I can use it at 8x in a newer motherboard
down the road? Any suggestions/comments/jokes would be
appreciated....thanks group....j15

also using antec true480 power supply
768Mb pny pc133 sdram
SBlive sound card
cdrw
floppy
30 and 80 Gb Maxtor HDDs
WinXP home sp1 and newer updates

Yes it should work, but only at 4X. K7VTA boards only support up to 4X.

No sense in paying for an 8x agp card. Any good ATI or Nvida 4x will do a
nice job.
