I previously had an abit nf7, i tried OC'in that with my AMD2600+ Barton
333FSB it would not work
people here told me that it was because I had a locked multiplier and the
only way that i could OC was to change the FSB from 166 to 200, but i only
have DDR333 memory and was told that i should only attempt to change the CPU
fsb to 200 if i had DDR400
Anyhow
I put in the new MSI board, with the same CPU, the board did not set the FSB
and the mutiplier itself
the FSB was at 100mhz and the multiplier was at 10
so in order to get the full use of my 2600+ i changed the multiplier to 11.5
and the FSB 166
i haven't tried anything anyhigher yet, I was just wondering why the
multiplier was at 10 when i first put the board in, If people say that the
multiplier on my CPU is locked then shouldn't it always remain at 11.5?
or when people say locked do they mean it can go anywhere from 0 - 11.5 but
no higher than 11.5<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
