logging on to wireless network

I have a dlink 614+. It works fine but whenever I reboot my windows
2000 box and attempt to log on to my server there is no network
connection established yet. I must first log on locally, have the
connection made to the access point, log out, and log back in.

This may be due to the wireless adapter I'm using in Windows. It is a
linksys wmp11. There is a configuration utility that is in the
Startup menu. This is what I use to establish the connection when I'm
logged on locally. I open it up (it is already running) and make it
"search" for an access point. It finds it. Thus connection
established.

Any takers?

Well, I have a D-link 614+ with a wired desktop and two wireless laptops.
Everything works with no problems. I can't offer any help without some
clarification. When you say "attempt to log on to my server" what do you
mean? Is the Win2000 box part of a network that includes another computer
that you are using as a server? And what do you mean by "I must first log
on locally"? Log on to what locally?
