I upgraded the BIOS of my M2N-SLI Deluxe from 1102 to 1302, and
everything seemed to be fine for a day or so, but then when I went to
reboot after shutting down there was no video and no beeps indicating
error messages. After checking the connections, I decided to zap the
CMOS settings: I removed the battery, moved the jumper to the Clear
position and left it there for 10 minutes or more. Still no joy when I
replaced the battery and moved the jumper back to the normal position

I then removed the battery again, moved the jumper and left the thing
overnight. This morning it worked when I powered up again.

How long should it take to clear the CMOS?

You shouldn't have to remove the battery. All you have to do is move the
jumper to clear the cmos and the move it back. It should take only a matter
of a second of two. You might want to make sure everything is seated into
the motherboard properly. I'd pull all the cards and reseat them. I'd do the
same with the ram. The next thing to check is your power supply. It may have
gone bad.

I hope this helps,
Bob

I know this discussion is pretty dead, but I just had this exact, same
problem and stumbled upon this while searching for a solution. I gave
up trying to look for it on the net, so I called Asus Tech-Support. The
guy I spoke to was very professional, very nice, and spoke perfect
English (something you don't get too often when calling a tech-support
line). He told me that I need to unplug the power wire from the back of
my computer (or turn the power supply switch off), wait about 5 seconds,
press the power button to drain any excess power from the system, then
reset the CMOS by 1) leaving the battery IN, 2) using the jumper that is
CLOSEST TO THE BATTERY: move it from pins 1 and 2 to 2 and 3 and leave
it there for 60 seconds (one full minute), 3) after the minute has
passed, place the jumper back onto pins 1 and 2, 4) plug the machine
back in or turn the power switch on the PSU back on, 5) wait 5 to 10
seconds for the PSU to charge up, 6) press the power button, 7) watch
your computer start back up (sigh of relief), 8)make sure it boots with
default settings, 9) reboot and apply your own personal CMOS/BIOS
settings if you want, and, finally, 10) save, exit, reboot, watch your
machine fire up again (another sigh of relief) and get back to your
normal life. If it happens again within a short amount of time, call
back and they will immediately issue an RMA.

Hope this helped.

Good luck to all of you who are having these problems with the ASUS
M2N-SLI Deluxe.
