What make of graphics to go for

I enjoy playing platform and action games along with sports too on the pc
and want to know whether I should go for a Nvidia GEforce or a Radeon
graphics card , also a reasonable priced one.

Reasonable priced isn't very usefull: <50, 50-100, 100-150, 150-200, 200>
Then: are you willing to overclock your card?
What is the rest of your system (Processor, memory, motherboard, AGP or
PCI-e, Power Supply)
