anyone know of a difinitve list for comparing athlons and bartons?

looking for athlon diff between 2000xp and barton 2800, am upgrading and want
to know if the hsf I have will handle 2800, have found some docs but none
that compare the 2 specific models.

2000 is running at 45c max ( even when ambient temp is high ) with seti 24/7
slightly o/c just wondering if I will need new hsf.

TIA

Tech Doc .pdfs from AMD's website. Page 6, "Thermal Design"

  > > looking for athlon diff between 2000xp

Palomino - 70W max, 62.5W typical.

 > and barton 2800,

68.3W max, 53.7 typical.

NB: 3000+ = 74.3W max, 58.4W Typical - both at 1.65Vcore, so any
overclocking will push the heat output up quite fast...

Shouldn't need a new HSF if you're going to run it at spec' speed - Barton's
run quite cool...

They're two separate .pdfs - I saved copies for;
Model 6 - Palomino
Model 8 - Thoroughbred
Model 10 - Barton

Yeah, useful for exactly that...

Just for info Nick, went ahead and plonked 2800 barton in my 8K5a3+ and used
old hsf woks a beut just temp has risen by 1-2 C now at 43.5 but it has been
hot here today so might just be the room temp, had to increase core by .25V
to make the board stable, been running seti ( under linux ) for over 8 hours
and now completed my first 2 units in under 3hrs Smile
