There is NO outlet for Maxtor boards, even Maxtor will not sell you a
replacement.

I messed up my 30gig circuit board and paid £200+ for someone to locate me a
new identical drive, inside 1 week, so that I could swap boards and recover
my data.

May I suggest eBay. I should have gone that way but time was not on my side.
Find an identical drive to yours on eBay and ask the seller the relevant
details as you have listed. You should be able to pick up either a new or at
least second hand unit from there, not as expensive as mine.

The drive I'm looking for the board for is fairly new, I just bought a new
drive from the same retailer and swapped the board to get my data of the
drive. now I'm looking for the new board so as I can reuse the drive again.
Tried to phone maxtor this afternoon, but just got left in a queue. Thanks
for the ebay idea, will keep a lookout.

I am doing exactly same, keeping an eye out for a mechanical U/S drive so
that I can use the new boardless 30 gig<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
