I just bought some new ram to upgrade my system,the problem is,it wont work
on my p.c.
I have an M.S.I. 875p neo m/b,intel p4 2.6 cpu,512mb ddr pc3200 400mhz ram &
windows xp.
The new ram is, 1gb ddr pc2700 333mhz.
When i fit the new ram either on its own or with the original ram, the
system refuses to start,i cant even get to the bios screen.
Is it a setting problem,compatibility, or could it be a duff ram module?
Help appreciated,
Terry.

Wel there's the clue. You're using 400Mhz so presumably your system has a
400Mhz FSB and you're running an 2.6C CPU, so no wonder it won't work! You
need to purchase RAM that's identical to what you already have. 2700 RAM
won't work with that setup.

You'd better pray they'll take it back, even though it is your fault.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

It's the wrong speed of RAM. You already have PC3200 RAM. Buy more of it;
not PC2700.
