Hi,
On this P55TV2 mobo, there's a jumper that allows you to set 5V or 12V
BIOS programming. I was going through the manual, and I noticed that
there's also a jumper to set "BIOS BOOTBLOCK" (enabled or default).
I was wondering if this latter jumper means that if I set it to enabled,
that the BIOS would boot to a bootblock and allow me to do a BIOS flash
even after I've trashed the BIOS?
I can't find any description of this jumper otherwise, but I thought
that only the 2Mbit Flash BIOSes had this bootblock feature? This board
has a Winbond 29EE011 flash prom, which I thought was a 1Mbit Flash.
The reason for this question is that I had been trying to find a BIOS
that would enable large drives awhile ago, and ended up trashing the
BIOS by flashing a patched BIOS for a "Winco P55TV2", hoping that that
would've enabled large drives, and I ended up having to send the BIOS
chip out for re-flashing

.
If this jumper does what I'm thinking it does, I'm wondering if I should
go looking for a BIOS that might work that would support large drives

... Does anyone have any idea of a "compatible BIOS" that might work?
Thanks,
Jim
