I'd like to change to 85 Hz without installing catalyst control
center, just with Ati display drivers. my sony cathodic monitor never
does support DDC, with or without CCC, neither with HD15 or BNC, and
when i double click - apply any of the 85Hz "all mode listing": still
60 Hz !
I must also point at the fact any of the CCC supports EDID so i myself
must set the correct max refresh rate according screen resolution.
I'm asking this because CCC is causing slow downs to system boot-up
speed, one among all sorts of problems.
Is there some drivers, or some regedit key that allows real MAX 85Hz
1600*1200?

Any help should be very appreciated.

Yea, get Ray Adam's ATI Tray Tools from www.guru3d.com
That will give you all the options of CCC and a lot more too without
the slowdown of CCC.
