Hi
I have a TV connected to my shuttle and get a stable but not a high
definition picture. When I connected a monitor, all was well through
the 'POST' and the 'WINDOWS XP' logo but as soon as the 'Descktop'
tried to display, the picture just rolled uncontrollably. I tried a
second monitor with the same result. I have ME on the same machine
and when 'booting' into ME all is OK.
Any ideas on how to correct the problem please?

Thanks

petert

Peter, what is your TV mode settings in the BIOS ("TV Mode Support" on
page "Advanced Chipset Features")? Is it the same in your XP Advanced
Display Settings?

Are you in the UK. If so maybe the shuttle is putting out an NTSC signal or
a 60 htz pal signal.
Try changing the bios settings to pal or driver settings using a vga
monitor. You could try a modern
telly (one that can do NTSC or PAL60).

Hi
Thanks for replies. I'm sorry I gave the wrong impression. It is the
monitors that are unstable after the POST and XP logo, when the
desktop tries to display. The TV remains stable. (All TV settings are
for PAL)

Sounds like the TV connection may be causing a refresh rate of 50 or 60Hz on
the monitor.
I remember having a problem like this once because few monitors support
50hz.

You could check your refresh rate settings but that's probably not possible
without being able to see what's on screen.
Does your TV support PAL60 or NTSC. You could try with this setting.
If the monitor is OK when using PAL60 or NTSC then it's going to be a
refresh rate problem.

What nview settings are you using?

Have a go with some of the settings using <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://tvtool.info/index_e.htm." target="_blank">http://tvtool.info/index_e.htm.</a>
Excellent tool for TVs and nvid cards.
There's an eval download.

BTW I put in an agp card and am glad I did.

i had a similar problem. i had to boot into VGA-safe mode and
download new drivers. that seemed to fix it (the new drivers probably
just changed the default refresh/resolution or something).
