I built four machines using this motherboard...two of the machines were
built in 2001, and two were built in 2002/3 time frame

I agree with the other post about manufacture support...there is virutally
none and just try to contact them; it's painful.

Of the four machines, I've had trouble with 1 motherboard just going bad
after about 2 months on the job (a v1.0 board). I never found out what
the problem was, I just replaced it. Also, on another machine the
motherboard went bad while installing it.

But I'll say this, overcoming those problems all four machines are solid
performers. It just appears the manufacture, Soyo, has QC problems, but
that does not help you when you already spent your money- and you expect
it to work- not buy another. Yeah right, just try to get the retailer to
honor it's defective merchandise policy; also painful.

I haven't built anymore machines since, and when I do, I'll look else
where for a reputable manufacture.

I have had 2 of their product fail in the last 15 months. The support
has been good via phone.
Judging by what I see in other forums, the others are all about the
same. One has to realize that 90% of the issues are organic based not
silicone. (stole that from someone else)<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
