I recently bought a MSI KT6 delta mobo and began using. Being my first
complete home build I was slighly unsure of the cooling requirements! I
later noticed that the system as running fairly hot (55-60), it appears that
the board did not come with any heatsink cooler on the n/bridge? Can i
sinall any fan here and where do i connect it to?

any help appreciated

The bios and MSI programs read the temps about 4 degrees high. If you
wanted to replace the northbridge heatsink you would have to buy a
motherboard/chipset HSF. There is a fan header on the board for this fan.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Mine runs at 35C case and 43C CPU, I did not bother (yet) with a fan on the
Northbridge, the Heat sink on it is quite large.
I have a few case fans, Make sure you have enough cooling, ar least a case
fan on the back and a side fan, IMHO.
I have a Stock 2500+XP with the stock HS & F.

Thanks for your help,

Reckon I will have to get improved heatink for CPU. I already have a few
case fans installed but doesn't seem to make a alot of difference!

cheers

I have the same setup with one front case fan sucking in air and one PSU fan
exhausting the air. Mine ran at around 54-56 deg with a room temp of 22 deg.
I installed a Coolermaster Aero 7+, which at slower speeds (2700rpm) brought
the temp down to 52 deg.

What I have just found out is that if you put it in standby mode instead of
shutting down and then restart, my temps are down to 42 deg. I have yet to
find out why, but I have also checked this in bios and that also confirms
the drop - try it.
