Post subject: cannot get onboard sound to work

I have a new Aopen AX45-4D Max motherboard with the Realtek AC97 audio built
in. I installed the driver for it that was on the CD that came with the
board, everything looks ok in device manager, but I cannot get any sound. No
conflicts and when I go to play a device it opens and plays like its acting
normal, except no sound. I downloaded the latest driver from Realtek and
still have the same problem. Anyone else encountered this frustrating
problem?
