I just bought a ASUS p4ad2 Deluxe motherboard.
I got everything going on it and I am using Windows XP
I'm unable to get the sound working. I have installed the SP2 after
installing windows XP. I have checked the BIOS AC7 setting on the onboard
configuration and that is what's selected. I have installed the drivers on
the CD which are given by ASUS for cmi, and have also tried the KB fix on
the CD. Nothing seems to be working on the board. I am able to hear the
sound in the headphones but there is no sound controller for the sound in
the system tray. there is no windows welcome sound. I can hear the CPU
speaker and the headphones making beeping noises when they should be playing
the windows sounds...Only thing I'm think is that in the CD it stated that
it needs SP1 to be installed for the drivers to work...and I installed
SP2...is that going to make any difference ?? I have all the other latest
updates.
It's driving me nuts...can anyone help me please ??
