i´m using the internal wlan port to be connected to a wlan router using
dhcp. When setting the system (xp sp2) in standby or hibernation mode
it restarts after a few minutes (standby) or immedeatly (hibernation).
That happens when the wlan port of the router activated as it should be.
When the wlan is desactivated (router) standby and hibernation works
perfectly.
Any advise how to change this so that i do not have to deactivate the
wlan port in router always would be perfect.

best regards and good wishes for 2008 from germany

Norbert

Are you referring to Ethernet ports (RJ45 connectors) ?

Some options for 88E8053 Ethernet chips are shown here.
Try changing them. In the first picture, I would turn
off both tick boxes.

"Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby"

"Wake from shutdown"

The tick boxes are not availible for the RTL8187L ind the driver section.

"Supports Wake-On-LAN (WOL) function and remote wake-up (Magic
Packet and Microsoft wake-up frame)"

The manual mentions an "EZ Wifi mode", but doesn't document where
that is switched on. Apparently, the Wifi can run when the computer
is sleeping (presumably by waking the computer when necessary to
service interrupts ?).
