pc building and errors

I'm uppgrading my pc with MAinboard, cpu,fan,Powersource,graphicscard
and harddrive. I made 4 startup/boot disk from my old pc (win2000) but
when i put the firt one in i get an error

Disk I/O error status:00001000
NTDETECT Failed

It finds my CD as Sec Master and HDD as pri master (40GB) and 512ram.
The fans ar blowing. and i tried switching cables. Nothing?

What can i do?

It could simply be a corrupted disk.

why not just set your bios to boot from cdrom
then install win2k that way?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
