Looking for a conversion program to convert psd files to jpg and gif
file to jpg. Any suggestion?

Ifranview (Iview) does this and is free. It is also a nice viewing/slideshow

Photoshop full, Photoshop Elements 2.0, maybe Photoshop LE.
And as suggested by Hu Ru, Irfanview.
