There are proprietary SDKs and for some Digi-cams (Nikon) they have an
application that is sometimes extra cost.
I am not sure what Canon does. They may have an application also.
Olympus has a SDK and there are programs online to PC control some models.

If you are looking to buy a Digital camera to PC control, be sure to check
the spec and if there is a SDK or application for that model. Not all
Digital cameras can be PC Controlled.
