Post subject: Can I Use a 6-pin PCI-E power connector with a G-FORCE 6800 GT AGP Card
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>videocards>nvidia (more info?)

I just bought a thermaltake purepower 680W PSU which has 2- 6 pin PCI-E
power connectors. My video card is AGP and is currently connected via
a 4-pin molex connector. I know there are adapters to go the other way
(4-pin to 6 pin ) but are there any the other way. It would be a shame
to have 2 dedicated connectors for video and not use it until I
upgrade entire system.

Before you say anything about the regular molex connectors on the PSU,
I have a total of 4 HDs, 3 CD ROMS, 6 case fans, high end cpu fan
needing a connector instead of power from MB.

If it is not possible, I will just use one of the molex connectors on
its own and just use splitters on the other lines. The psu has total
of 8 molex connectors ( 3 connectors per cable x2 and 2 connectors per
cable X1). I would guess the best option would be to use the 2
connector cable on its own for thr video card.

Suggestions, opinions, possible adapter cable sites, would be
appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any comments.
