Hello Everyone
This is the my third powercolor video card and all of them, the fans become
noisy after 6 moths
is this normal? Are there any other brand of ATI that the quality is better,
or do I have to go to Nvidia

thanks

It depends... What card do you have? Does it have a reference heat sink/fan
design?

Had a couple of Powercolors, X850XT, and 6800 GS, both nice and quiet, no
problems with them at all.

Are the fans dirty? If the intake vents are clogged the fan has to
work harder and makes noise.

You can buy third party fans.

I like HIS cards - the IceQ ones have an arctic cooler fan which works
great.

The current card is a X1600Pro and I have not changed the fan/heatsink etc
Had very little dust, after the dust was cleared still noisy
looks like the bearings on the fan become lose.
Is Sapphire a better card?
Can someone recommend a nice silent card ie without a fan? I will even
consider a Nvidia. maybe?

By the time they become noisy they are stuffed and it is too late they are
just a poor quality fan. I run my computer 24/7 and it seems they just can't
take it.
I took it back and they replaced it. under warranty.
