Ok, good. Now what Nvidia graphics driver set do you have installed?

Running a P4-3.0E, 2gb PC3200 @ ddr400 dual channel, GA-8IPE1000-G, eVGA
6800GT (350/1000), XP Pro SP2, DX 9.0c, nVidia 71.89 = 3DMark03 is
11,000

11333 with a run just now and 71.89 drivers. I'd think your rig should
score up there too.

Just for fun, try running AGP at 4x and disable fast writes - what are your
scores now?

Ok, with all the talk about the 77.72 drivers being 'broken' in some
aspects, I haven't run those drivers. You might try uninstalling those
and installing the 71.89 set, as folks here have talked about going back
to this set a number of times. Um, it just occurred to me you might
also check to see if there are any background processes running that
could be eating up your resources? There can easily be unnecesssary
stuff running that can drag performance down like this. Might check
that first.

The only things running in the background is my AV which is set to "Sleep"
mode when I run the test.

The rest of the tasks are normal windows tasks.

That's a perfectly normal result for an non over clocked single 6600GT.
My XFX 6600GT is over clocked and the last result I got was 8720, you
should check the Futuremark on-line database
My test is here.

Hm. What is AGP Aperture set to?

there are a few processes I'd kill, especially the CTHELPER, you running
a Creative Labs sound board and driver set? Read this:
http://www.auditmypc.com/process/cthelper.asp

MDM.EXE I'd kill, and turn it off too. Check this:
http://www.iamnotageek.com/a/mdm.exe.php

jusched.exe is SunJava's automatic updater, kill it.

WDFMGR.EXE is installed with Media Player 10. Don't anyone DARE tell me
it's automatically installed with XP SP2. I don't have it and I am
running SP2. It is Windows Driver Foundation Manager, and it gives
better compatibility with hardware drivers.

iSafe.exe is part of ETrust Anti Virus.

The nVidia control applet seems to be missing in your list!

Oh well, these are a few things to play with, See what you think.

HIH.

is there *really* that much difference between the 6600GT and 6800GT?
Wow.
