need more input...

for instance... does your computer work with a friend's keyboard or mouse?
does your keyboard or mouse work with a friend's computer? how long have you
had this problem? did you recently purchase this keyboard or mouse? did you
recently purchase this computer? what type of connections do the keyboard
and mouse use? AT (5 pin din)? PS/2 (6 pin mini-din)? USB (small rectangle)?
Serial (not the keyboard but the mouse... 9 pin weird shape)?

please be as elaborate as you can in describing your problem<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
