I build a computer for a friend with 2 6800GT's SLI'd and everything was
working just fine. Now he tells me that he just updated his drivers and got
Battlefield II but when he tries to play the game he get's both a vertical
and horizontal green band across the screen for a couple of seconds and then
everything locks up. Then when he exits the game he gets a system message
saying SLI is detected would you like to activate it, even though he says he
already has it activated. Personally I think he's just screwed up the driver
install but I wanted to check in here to see if there are any other known
issues.

Well I guess there were no other known issues.... it turns out that it was a
driver issue after all anyways.

FYI the green bands illustrate how the rendering workload is divided up
between the two video cards. The feature was probably checked by mistake in
the nVidia driver panels.

The game is probably not playing nice with that driver build. Ask your
friend to force a different SLI method (use AFR instead of split-frame
rendering) in the presets.
