Anyone have any problems with AMD64 processors? The way the heatsink mounts
for that processors seems like it might be a problem to me.

Thanks,
BGC

Yes, I can't afford one at the moment.

No problems here. Tried a couple of different coolers. Both are easy to
install. Much easier than the socket A coolers. And the retail cooler is
pretty good.

I'm using the thermalright SLK-948U heatsink with an OEM cpu.

Has it's own backplate and mounts with two middle screws bisecting the
cpu instead of four corner screws (athlonXP style). There's a pressure
bar between them that applies the force directly across the cpu.
Backplate is a bit improved in design from former design.

Actually, the standard amd64 support bracket is a backplate design
itself. You assemble it, and attach clip on heatsinks to it. sturdy.

I'd expect a cheaper thermalright clip on design using the stock
backplate eventually.

To answer your question, the amd64 design works pretty well.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
