i have the pt8 neo-LSR(601-6799-010) motherboard. I assume that the presence
of a LAN connector on the back panel indicates that this board is equipped
with LAN capabilities. is this correct?
connecting the LAN connection causes lights to come on on the LAN connector.
However winxp does not seem to recognise the presence of a LAN adaptor. The
LAN does not appear in the network connections control panel.
when i first installed windows xp, an indicator appeared in the taskbar
indicating the presence of a LAN adaptor. at that point, since i was not
connected to a network, i disabled it somehow. now there is no sign of it.
when hidden devices are shown in the device manager, network adaptors
appear. One device listed is the "VIA compatable fast ethernet adaptor -
Packet scheduler miniport". "This device is working properly" according to
the device manager.
I hope somebody can help
