How quiet is the 7900GS?

Hi all,

Soon to be building a new system and am wondering how quiet the 7900GS' are
in general? The reason I say in general is that the card will be bought
from Novatech and on their site it is not branded, it is one of their
"supply any brand in stock" cards so could be any brand.

The alternative is the MSI 8600GT fanless. I've been looking on THG and the
overall difference in average FPS is 210FPS in favour of the 7900GS, but I'm
wanting this system to be quieter but better in performance to my current
system:

Pentium D 3.0GHz (Cooled by Theramaltake Blue Orb II)
2GB OCZ PC6400
256MB 6800GS Fanned
Raptor 150GB 16MB
Thermaltake PurePower 470w (2x 80mm Fans)

I will be putting the card alongside:

C2D E6550 (Stock HSF for now)
2GB OCZ PC6400 (Carried over)
Either of 2 listed Gfx Cards
Raptor 150GB 16MB
Thermaltake TR2 470w (1x 120mm Fan)

Am I trying to achieve the impossible in terms of quiet and performance? Or
is this possible?

Hi i currently run a winfast 7900 GTX and its silent i cant here the fan
running on it temps on it are around 45c.
so i would go with the 7900 GS better performance, you could always
change the HSF on the card if it was to noisy
