I was just wondering if it would be a worthwhile upgrade, in terms of
dx9 3d performance for games ( i do not care about dx10-just a stuuupid
marketing gimmick ) and how much faster if any it would be in dx9 games
(new ones, such as bioshock, lost planet, cryses etc)
thanks, guys

Bear in mind the card being compared to is the X1950XTX, which in itself is
faster than the X1900XT due to higher-clocked RAM.

BTW, do you actually play Lost Planet? To me the gameplay feels every bit a
lame console port. So while it's a popular graphics benchmark, IMHO the game
isn't worth upgrading hardware for.

I just upgraded from an 1950XT to a 3870 and I do notice a difference. It's
breathtaking to play Resident Evil 4, Fifa 08, Company of Heroes and Gears
of War at 1920x1080 on a 47" LCD HDTV.

FYI, I just measured the frame rate of Gears of War at 1920x1080 w/ max
video options in DirectX 9.0c. It never goes below 45.
