I've had this P4P800 MB from 4 years ago. It supports two SATA
drives. I've been using one Western Digital 500GB SATA drive
since last summer and it was good.

I just bought a new WD 750GB SATA drive. It works fine when it's
plugged in just by itself. But when I plug in both SATA drives.
The file copy from any drive to either SATA drive, between the
two SATA drives, becomes very slow. Any idea? TIA.

Does the new 750GB need jumpering to to SATA1?

I don't know. The drive didn't come with a jumper (nothing on
the metal pins). The old WD 500GB drive never needed to be
jumped, so I figure this one may not need a jumper either.

This is the drive. It doesn't have a manual either.

Google "WD7500AAKS jumper"
Putting a jumper over pins 5 & 6 will limit it to SATA1 speed -
default is SATA2 with no jumpers.
