System NF7
Nvidia drivers
No sound. No muted settings, all volume controls set to max. Control Panel
System Hardware shows no conflicts and are all shown to be working
correctly. On chip sound enabled in BIOS. No sound from CD/DVD ROMS or
Windows default sounds. Any help appreciated.

Got to ask the stoopid question - have you got your speakers plugged into
the correct socket?

Tried them in all 3 (front, rear and sub) sockets. This problem used to
occur years ago before on chip sound now its back. A PCI sounndcard may be
aggod idea. I just want beeps and the like and I play the occasional
game/CD.
Last mainboard (MSI) with worked perfectly with sound but not this one with
nVidia drivers.

Further to the above. I've connected the front panel mike/speaker socket to
the pins on the Mb and the speakers work through this socket. Its not very
elegant though, wires from the case trailing over my desk. So, the problem
appears to lie with the rear panel sockets.

At least you figured it out.
