| I'm putting together my new rig this week and I'd like to know what
testing software I should get to test the memory, hard drive, etc.
I want to make sure everything is working 100% as it should before
it's too late to return something.

Hard drive - download diagnostic from hard drive manufacturer
Memory - memtest86+ from memtest.org, Prime95 from mersenne.org
Video - some version of 3DMark - I use 3DMark2001SE and it has a
demo loop you can leave running over night.

You can get a free memory testing software from Microsoft, but you must
have a floppy drive for it to be used as you boot to the floppy drive
to use it. >> Stay informed about: What testing software? |

Or if you're using something modern, launch it directly from the OS'
bootable installation CD. >> Stay informed about: What testing software? |
