I have an unusual need: While replacing an LCD inverter on my laptop,
the plastic female plug, which holds five wires, disintegrated/
crumbled. My theory is that the thing must have been getting hot as
the inverter was failing. Now I have the new inverter, but need the
plastic insulator plug (which is probably worth 2 cents, if you could
find one!)to stick the five wires in. The laptop is an HP Pavilion
ze4900. Is there some kit/packet of parts, used parts, etc. that you
might have or could refer me to where I might find this little part?

You'd have to take the pieces to radio shack or some local electronics hobby
shop and hope that they carry it. Failing that, I hope you are really good
with a soldering iron. -Dave

First, you'd have to find a picture of the connector, to get
some idea as to what type it might be. Some laptops use
Japanese metric connectors, for some of the display
related stuff. But what the name of these might be,
I couldn't say.

This might look similar to the inverter, here.

This is an example of a Japanese connector, 1.25mm spacing.

The reason I selected that one, is a NEC panel called up an
IL-Z series connector. There are millions of these things, and
I'm no connector expert. Having access to the mating connector,
and being able to take measurements off it, will get you
"down to the thousands" of possibilities.

Good luck,
Paul
