Post subject: upgrading Abit kg7 video card
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>abit (more info?)

Hi,
I have an old Abit kg7 non raid motherboard with an athlon xp 1800+
and 768mb of 2100 ddr ram. I'm currently using an old radeon 7500
which works fine. The computer isn't a speed demon by far, but its
fast enough to do what I want with it. There are of course some new
games coming out that I would like to play, and for that I will need a
new video card. I'm wondering what the best video card I can upgrade
to is. I read the post about the 9800 having problems with the Abit
kg7. I've heard that it's because of the power problems. What about
the new radeon x800, will that work? or one of the new geforces. The
newest thing I heard working was the old radeon 9700 pro, but that was
over a year ago.
