This could be very useful to me, if it could allow changing fsb and Vcore on
the fly without crashing the machine Smile

I'd like to go from 10.5x100fsb Vcore=1.25, to 10.5x230fsb Vcore=1.9v.

Most likely doing this without crashing the machine would involve several
smaller steps, in changing the Vcore in conjunction with the fsb. This
would imply a simple scripting or scheduling feature, so you could have a
'underclock' button and a 'overclock' button. Any chance of this?

Me 2. I downloaded and I tweaking voltages with Prime 95 torture test.

Only one minor problem is that I can set the CPU ratio, but I believe my
Barton 2500+ is internally locked. MBM and my computer lists the speed at
2.2 GHz. I have the FSB @ 200 and the multiplier at 12.5x. 8Rdvacore
reports at speed of 2.5 GHz, but I believe that it is inaccurate because the
system still benches like it is at 200x11.

Nice job,

Pete

If you want the other voltages too, get the 0.8-dev (enabled debug
messages). Then, for example VDimm:
Set to 2.5, run 8rdavcore, exit it and rename the 8rdavcore.deb to
vdimm25.deb.

Do the same for the other voltages too, so you have one file for every
voltage.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I like this utility, the main problem I'm having with it is when attempting
to switch between 10.5x100fsb Vcore 1.25v to 10.5x230fsb Vcore 1.9v.

The problem is that it always crashes somewhere around 10.5x175fsb, no
matter how slowly I change fsb or Vcore. Now, if in the bios I start at say
10.5x176, then I have no problem going to 10.5x230.

I'm guessing there are some internal bios parameters that are not getting
changed by the software utility. Any chance this is the case, or other
tips?

Yes, I'm working on it. The Bios sets different timing values for
different FSB ranges. That isn't very simple because every mainboard
manufacturer (or bios version) seems to use slightly different values.
But the whole stability depends on this and I think this takes some time.

The best is if you start with the highest FSB you want to reach and
then slow down.
